I have never drank alcohol in my life. I’m interested in trying out red wine; heard so many good things about it. But I’m so confused! How do I know what to pick? I don’t mind paying $ for it, as long as it tastes good. Can anybody help me out, please? Thanks so much!

Perhaps over time you will come to like those flavors, so the exposure to them is good for you.
Also, you should haunt your local retailers and find out when they have in-store tastings and go to those. Great way to taste a bunch of wines for little to no cost.
