Recipe mistake. The recipe for a pasta sauce called for 1/2 a cup of white wine and instead I added white wine
vinegar. I’ve added a whole stick of butter and shrimp…too much to throw away. What can I add or do to the sauce to cut the zing off from the vinegar?
Lemon or orange juice will help, as someone already suggested. So will brown sugar. But add either slowly and taste after each addition. You could also double the recipe and add the white wine the next time.
But here is what I do when I make a mistake. I type recipes and the main ingredients (Make sure you include white wine vinegar) into computer search engine, find a recipe that uses white wine vinegar and adapt what I had into that recipe. Shhh. don’t tell anyone.
